Job overview
Ward 26 at Blackpool Teaching Hospital are looking for highly motivated and committed Band 5 Staff Nurses to work across the Frailty assessment unit and the Acute Care of the Older Person Directorate at the Victoria Hospital Site, and we are keen to welcome nurses with a passion for this specialty.
This a large directorate encompassing 4 wards and the frailty assessment unit which all work together, alongside a dedicated Clinical Matron, to provide the highest standard of care to this client group.
We require enthusiastic individuals with a can do attitude that have the ability to work within our friendly ward teams and frailty assessment unit. They must be as passionate as we are in getting things right first time every time. The nursing staff work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team and pride themselves on delivering a high standard of care and effective discharge planning for the older person
Main duties of the job
Maintain high standards of nursing care and be personally accountable for professional and ethical actions, within the N.M.C Professional Code of Conduct. Give and promote Health Promotion Education, particularly around the specific speciality to the patient and carer in order to promote wellbeing and prevent further unnecessary hospital admissions. Ensure a high quality service is maintained by implementing Trust Clinical Governance Plans. Works as a member of the Multidisciplinary Team, and in conjunction with these other professionals promote a holistic model of care. Maintain contemporaneous and accurate written and/or electronic records ensuring all legal requirements are met. Be prepared to work flexibly and to the needs of the service
